False Bay TVET College Students selected for the Western Cape TVET Colleges Sports Squad.

In an exhilarating display of sportsmanship and talent, False Bay TVET College left an indelible mark at the Western Cape Provincial TVET Sports Day, which took place. This event featured a medley of sports including soccer, netball, rugby, and chess.

Competing against athletes from other TVET Colleges, the results:

Men’s Soccer:

False Bay TVET College emerged as the undeniable frontrunners. With a commendable record of three victories and one draw, the team secured the coveted top position on the leaderboard.

Women’s Soccer:

In the Women’s Soccer category, False Bay TVET College clinched an admirable third place. Facing formidable opponents, our team showcased impressive skills and seamless teamwork, concluding their campaign with heads held high.
7 FBC students have been selected for the Provisional National Squad

Chess:

False Bay College’s chess enthusiasts made waves in the competition securing 7 out of the 10 Provisional National Squad spots, 4 of whom are female.

Netball:

While netball did not result in a championship for False Bay TVET College, the spirited athletes displayed unwavering determination throughout the tournament. Achieving third place, the netball team showcased remarkable sportsmanship and resilience on the court.

In sum, False Bay TVET College can bask in the glow of a stellar performance at the Western Cape Provincial TVET Sports Day. The athletes not only showcased their skills but also exemplified an unwavering commitment to representing the college with integrity and passion. These remarkable results have laid the foundation for the selection committee to select students to represent the College at the National TVET College Sports Day, scheduled for late September.

Students selected for the Provisional National Squad will undergo further training.  The best of each category will then be selected to represent at the National TVET Sports Competition.
