Work Integrated Learning (WIL)

False Bay TVET College is mandated by the Department of Higher Education & Training (DHET) to assist students in seeking workplaces to gain relevant working experience. The WIL department engages with industry to establish partnerships for internships and workplace-based learning opportunities for students and graduates.

WIL represents a tripartite relationship between the College, the student and the host employer. The student then applies their theoretical training obtained at the College to a real-life working environment provided by the host employer.

Work Placement Support:

Work Integrated Learning
N6 graduates requiring 18 months’ Work Place experience to complete the
National N Diploma

Internships
NC(V) NQF Level 4 graduates requiring 12 months’ Work Place experience

Work Based Experience
Occupational/Apprenticeships requiring 6 – 36 months’ Work Place experience

Lecturer Workplace Experience
Lecturers requiring minimum of 5 non-consecutive days’ exposure to the workplace

Workplace Exposure
NC(V) NQF Level 2-4 and N5-N6 students requiring a minimum of 5 days’ work exposure
