Following his passion: Yaqoob Damon

Moegamat Yaqoob Damon was the first False Bay TVET College student to represent South Africa at the International World Skills Competition held in Abu Dhabi in October 2017.

Yaqoob is a polite and helpful person with a can-do attitude founded on his passion for learning. He says, “As we get older, life becomes tougher, but if we empower ourselves with the correct knowledge we can make smarter decisions for our future”.

Yaqoob studied Auto Body Repair at the False Bay TVET College Westlake Campus and was a confident and enthusiastic student.

After he returned from the International Skills Competition he was offered a position with SMG, ARC, where he has worked since March 2018. Yaqoob is studying through the company to become a master technician.

Passionate about restoring cars, Yacoob is working on building a career in the vehicle industry, where he enjoys being around cars, people who share his passion and learning new technologies.
