From Setbacks to Success Through Perseverance and Purpose.

Sindisiwe Ngindana’s journey is a testament to resilience, faith, and the transformative power of education. Currently, she is an Honours student in Human Resources Management at the Central University of Technology, Free State, and is doing her internship at Overberg Water Board, a Government Business Enterprise. But her path to success was far from easy.

After completing matric with a Higher Certificate pass and low APS scores, Sindisiwe was met with closed doors. Despite efforts to upgrade her marks and complete a bridging course at a private college, her course was not accredited for university admission. Undeterred, she turned to False Bay TVET College, a decision that changed the course of her future.

At False Bay TVET College’s Khayelitsha Campus, she enrolled in Public Management N4–N6. These qualifications enabled her to gain admission to the Central University of Technology, where she went on to complete a Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Human Resources Management.

“My time at False Bay TVET College gave me hope,” she shares. “Even if you didn’t pass matric well, you can still achieve your dreams. Don’t take TVET College for granted, it helped shape who I am today.”

Sindisiwe is pursuing her Honours with plans to complete a PhD in Human Resources Management or Public Administration. Her vision is to become a researcher and lecturer, using her experience to inspire the next generation.

She continues to give back by assisting Grade 12 learners with university and bursary applications and tutoring peers in her field. Her advice to students: “Believe in yourself. Don’t let others instil fear in your potential. With consistency, perseverance, and hard work, you can overcome anything.”

From rejection to remarkable achievement, Sindisiwe’s journey proves that with determination and the right support, any obstacle can become a steppingstone to greatness.
