The future of skills development starts with prepared people.

False Bay TVET College’s Khayelitsha Campus hosted the DHET–QCTO Accreditation Capacity Building Workshop, a two-day engagement focused on preparing colleges for the transition from legacy programmes to occupational programmes.

Officials engaged on QCTO accreditation, occupational qualifications, assessment, curriculum implementation, compliance and institutional readiness — strengthening the capacity of lecturers, support staff and campus managers to support a seamless transition.

In this video, Mr. Bonakele Jacobs, Acting Regional Manager: Northern and Western Cape (DHET), highlights the importance of capacitating college teams as South Africa advances the skills revolution and works towards building credible, modern and future-ready TVET colleges.

On 11 September 2026, False Bay TVET College joined African Bank, Abalimi Bezekhaya and Crestway High School in Retreat for the launch of a meaningful vegetable garden initiative focused on sustainability, learner well-being and community development.

The initiative goes beyond planting vegetables. It demonstrates the power of partnerships and collaboration in creating sustainable solutions that can benefit learners, the school and the surrounding community.

On 28 July 2026, False Bay TVET College welcomed representatives from KfW Development Bank and the National Business Initiative (NBI) to our Westlake and Khayelitsha Campuses for an engagement focused on innovation, entrepreneurship and skills development.

The visit showcased the College’s programme offerings, the work of the Centre for Entrepreneurship Rapid Incubator (CfERI), engagements with MSMEs and incubatees, and the vision for the planned Entrepreneurship Hub at Khayelitsha Campus — a sustainable space aimed at empowering students and the surrounding community.

Watch highlights from the Diski Clubs – Fish Hoek Campus & Zeekoevlei High School Fundraiser Tournament, hosted at False Bay TVET College’s Fish Hoek Campus.

The day featured an exciting 5-a-side tournament, an exhibition match between False Bay TVET College and Zeekoevlei High School, a Market Day and a raffle draw.

More importantly, the event raised funds to support Zeekoevlei High School’s journey to the Super Soccer Schools National Tournament, helping young players pursue an incredible sporting opportunity.
