We are proud to announce that Liyema Sonqwaku, an N4 Electrical Engineering student at Khayelitsha Campus, has made history at the COSACSA 2025 Athletics Championships held recently in Polokwane, Limpopo.
Liyema’s outstanding performance at the event saw her take home 4 Gold Medals and 1 Silver Medal, with a particularly remarkable achievement: she broke the longstanding COSACSA 400m Sprint record in the female junior category. With her impressive tally of gold medals, she was one of the most decorated athletes at the championships.
Her achievement is a testament to her unwavering commitment, exceptional talent, and the hard work she has put into her athletics career. This accomplishment not only brings immense pride to Liyema personally but also shines a spotlight on the excellence fostered within our institution.
