Mihlali and Joshua, two passionate Electrical Engineering N4 graduates from False Bay TVET College’s Westlake Campus, are shining examples of where passion, education, and opportunity can lead.
Driven by the desire to become qualified electricians, the two enrolled at False Bay TVET College, laying a solid foundation in electrical engineering. Their hard work paid off when they were accepted into the Life Choices Academy’s PV Solar Programme a 12-month initiative focused on the growing renewable energy sector.
After completing two months of intensive technical training, Mihlali and Joshua began their 10-month internship at Solareff, a leader in the solar energy field. Initially joining the operations and maintenance team, both students quickly made their mark. Thanks to their commitment, diligence, and enthusiasm, they were promoted to the role of trainee Construction Managers a significant milestone in such a short space of time.
With a strong foundation from False Bay TVET College and real-world experience through their internship, Mihlali and Joshua now aspire to become Designers in the PV Solar field aiming to contribute to sustainable energy development in South Africa and set themselves apart in the industry.
Their story is a powerful example of how access to quality education, dedication and workplace exposure can transform ambition into achievement.
