Appointment of Deputy Principal: Innovation and Development

Ms Christiana Nel has been appointed by the DHET as the Deputy Principal: Innovation and Development at False Bay College, effective 01 February 2017.

IMG 5443Christiana holds a MA degree and has been working in the education and training sector for over a decade. At the South African Qualifications Authority she was responsible for Standard Setting in Languages and Communication. She managed and oversaw the Danish Support to Education and Skills Development (SESD) programme where some of her responsibilities included partnership, relationship and stakeholder management and the facilitation of strategic support to participating colleges at both provincial and national level. Under her leadership, the SESD programme contributed significantly to the development of management, governance, quality management, professional development of lecturing staff and student support services at the Western Cape TVET Colleges.

She also worked as a senior manager at West Coast TVET College where her functions included planning, monitoring and evaluation, placement, special projects with SETAs & industry and international partnerships.

Christiana took up the position of Manager responsible for Linkages and Partnerships in 2013 at False Bay TVET College. Under her leadership, the college significantly expanded its occupational delivery and its relationship with SETAs, Government and Industry Partners.  She was also instrumental in securing the partnership with the DTI for the establishment of the Centre for Entrepreneurship.
False Bay College has been without a Deputy Principal in Innovation & Development since 2012, the college can therefore look forward to a new energy and inspiration that this post will bring.
