Muizenberg Campus

Muizenberg Campus is the Hospitality training hub for False Bay TVET College and also offers Tourism and 2D Animation.  There is a well-equipped student cafeteria that is staffed by students that serves delicious meals each day.  The campus also has a beautiful training restaurant overlooking Muizenberg Beach.  Muizenberg campus features an outstanding OLC where students can access the internet to do research.

2D Animation

Occupational Programmes

GETC: Adult Basic Education and Training level 1

Kitchen Cleaner: NQF Level 2:
Designed to enable candidates to perform the function of cleaning kitchens in the hospitality industry.
Entry requirement Grade 9 minimum
Duration: 3-6 months
Career opportunities: Kitchen cleaner or porter
Outcomes: Hygiene and safety, Personal hygiene, Life skills, Basic computer skills

Table Attendant: NQF Level 2:
This programme is developed for those individuals who are working or want to work in the hospitality industry, but have no formal qualification. This programme is also a good entry point for individuals who want to enter the food preparation industry.
Entry requirement Grade 9 minimum
Duration: 6 months
Career opportunities: Table Attendant / Waiter, Food Runner or basic Bar person
Outcomes: Table service, Wine service, Customer service, Customer care and Life skills

Hotel Reception NQF Level 4
The programme was designed for reception for the hospitality / accommodation industry. It combines front office with lower management.
Entry requirement Grade 12
Duration: 1-year full time
Career opportunities: hotel receptionist, hostess, front office and reservations desk
Outcomes: Computer skills, Life skills, Supervision skills, Customer service and Customer care.

Ms HerneMariaana Herne
Campus Manager- Muizenberg Campus
Started her career with False Bay TVET College in 2005, Ms Mariaana Herne is constantly seeking opportunities and initiatives to enhance her students learning experience. An active community participant who advocate for charity work. Ms Herne invites her students to engage and learn from organisations and individuals to strive for a greater good.
An outdoors and animal lover, when Ms Herne is not at the Campus you will find her pottering around in her garden or taking walks or reading academic online articles. Popular with her staff constituency, Mrs Herne refers to God for guidance, her favourite Bible text is Jeremiah 29:11 “I know the plans I have for you.”
