False Bay College

RSVP - Parent Seminar - 19th August 2017

Dear Parent/Guardian

Are you and your child considering a best fit career path and wonder where to start?

We would like to extend a personal invitation to join us for a seminar to discuss False Bay TVET College as an education institution of choice, at our Open Day on Saturday 19th  August from 09:30 until 11:30 at any one of our 5 campuses.

Help your child to make an informed decision about their future career choice.

“Should he be going to College?” “Is my child going to University?” “Which career should she choose?” These are some of the questions parents are faced with.
False Bay TVET College will assist parents by offering some vital information at the Parent Seminar.

The engagement will be beneficial for both parents and guardians of learners in Grade 9 – 12.  Whether you are looking for a Post-Matric or a Vocational Grade 10-12 study option, our Academic Staff and Student Support Officers will be on hand for a personal consultation.

Topics will include:

• Background to TVET: and the SA education landscape and the critical role we play in building the economy.
• Subject choices: how subject choices affect future study and career options.
• Tour of the campus facilities
• Student Support and Development Services: adjusting to college life.
• College Programmes:  the entry requirements and how the curriculum is structured.
• What are the differences between School/College/ University?
• The Application Process.
• Financial Aid Options
Parallel Programme: Free Career Assessment: 9.30 – 11.30
Book a Free Career Assessment on Saturday 19th August for your child. We offer this free service at each 5 of our campuses in the month of August.

The assessment will run concurrently with the seminar.
